Queen Elisabeth Country Park (QECP) – Mountain Bike Ride & ParkRun (TBC)
**Event Details: Invitation Only**
Please note that this page is subject to change and may not reflect the final plan.
PLEASE NOTE THAT TOMORROW WILL BE VERY COLD
We plan to participate in the Park Run at Queen Elizabeth Country Park (QECP) at 9 AM and then go for a ride. Riders who are not running can join us later.
Here are the options:
1. **8:30 AM** – Meet at the Visitor Car Park at QECP. We can say hi and then head to the Park Run together.
2. **9:30/9:45 AM** – Meet at the MTB Pump Track for a gentle warm-up and a refresher on technical skills. (Google Maps link here.) We will start with the blue trail and, depending on our capabilities, we can either stick with the blue trail, tackle the red trail, or explore some of the lesser-known paths.
3. **11 AM** – This is the second meet-up at the Visitor Center to welcome latecomers and say goodbye to anyone leaving. Pump Track and another Blue Trail loop.
For safety, I recommend wearing the following clothing items:
– Full-fingered gloves
– Full-length trousers and a long-sleeved top (the area has many brambles)
– Flat-soled shoes or trainers (avoid shoes with a heel) or SPDs
– A helmet
– Eyewear (if possible)
Please remember that mountain biking can be a potentially dangerous activity. Ensure your bike and equipment are in good condition, as a poorly maintained bike can impact the entire group’s safety. It is crucial to check your brakes, especially since we will be riding downhill.
Thank you,
Fab
